The Occasion Choir, accompanied by York organist Nicholas Page, performed to a full house at this poignant commemorative concert and raised over £800.00 for the charity, Blind Veterans UK.
In addition to the classical choral pieces that the choir love to perform; the audience were treated to rousing military anthems, moving solos and beautiful arrangements of songs of the time, reminiscent of home and the loved ones waiting to be reunited.
TV presenter Geoff Druett sensitively orated poetry and stories in his warm and characterful style.
We thank all who supported the concert.
We are indebted to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.’
